My Social Sciences Orientation group went to the zoo for an outing about a week back. Of course, I took the chance to snap pictures, but since I didn't have a camera on hand, I had to resort to using my cam phone. Still, since it's a 3MP camera, some of the shots turned out pretty OK.

7 Plastic Packing Bags

I call them packing bags for lack of a better term. If you've ever worked at a shop that imports books and stuff from overseas, then you might know that sometimes they pack in stuff like styrofoam bits or paper to cushion the products inside.

Well, I was unpacking the books that just arrived in the shop today, and found these interesting packing bags that looked like this:

Except that they don't have "Hot Air" and "Cold Air" written on them; that was my doing.

So, being bored in the shop, a friend of mine and I decided to decorate this chain of 7 of these bags that were in the box that I unpacked. Of course, we had to go and write silly things on them, and so, we decided to write down the various ways in which we could pop them.

So, without further ado, let me introduce the following 7 bags:

No, there's no drawing this post. Just that I was surfing through Crosswalk and found the following 10 questions about accountability. If you're a Christian, you should either get someone whom you can share with to ask you these questions on a regular basis, or ask yourself these questions every few days:

1. Have you spent daily time in the Scriptures and in prayer?
2. Have you had any flirtatious or lustful attitudes, tempting thoughts, or exposed yourself to any explicit materials which would not glorify God?
3. Have you been completely above reproach in your financial dealings?
4. Have you spent quality relationship time with family and friends?
5. Have you done your 100% best in your job, school, etc.?
6. Have you told any half truths or outright lies, putting yourself in a better light to those around you?
7. Have you shared the Gospel with an unbeliever this week?
8. Have you taken care of your body through daily physical exercise and proper eating/sleeping habits?
9. Have you allowed any person or circumstance to rob you of your joy?
10. Have you lied to us on any of your answers today?

Another book that I was reading was something that I got from the recent MPH Bookfair at the Expo, called "The Gospel According to Dogs". The author, Robert L Short, has also written 2 more books: "The Gospel According to Peanuts" and "The Parables of Peanuts". I haven't read those 2 books, but "The Gospel According to Dogs" was quite a short and simple read, yet it's message was quite a timely reminder for myself.

One of the things that I remembered most from the book was that Christians should be "pointer" dogs; in that whatever we do, we should ultimately be pointing at Christ Himself. And also, just like dogs, we need to learn to be absolutely focused on what's most important, which is to know Christ and make Him known.

I was feeling depressed about the amount of work that I had to do, and the fact that I was in school alone to do it.
But I was talking to God about it, and He reminded me that I used to be quite a loner when I was young, and I still survived it back then. And being alone isn't necessarily a bad thing. It helps you to concentrate on things better.
OK, back to work. For those of you who're feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work that you need to finish, the drawing above's dedicated to you. :)

OK, so I cheated; I don't like colouring my images, so I did the bare minimum here. The little fella's got white fur, so all I had to do was to add some shading here and there. I had wanted to give him one blue and one yellow eye (cos I saw that in a real Husky before), but it didn't look very good on him. :)

Oh, and I decided to call him Little. Don't ask me why though; I'm not sure myself :P

Taking the MRT back from City Hall at 7.30++pm is no joke. It's a feat that requires dexterity to squeeze through the crowded doors, balance to stay upright when there are no poles or handgrips in sight to hold on to, and fortitude to stay afloat in the massive ocean of people, all packed like sardines in the same carriage as you.

It's at times like this that I wonder: What if the train suddenly malfunctioned and stopped in the middle of the tunnel?

Just another morbid thought from my cynical mind. :)

Love the play on words used, as well as the graphic of the Harry Potter "pot". It's really inspired.

Isn't he cute? I haven't given him a name yet though, and I still have to colour him in. That'll be done another day however; I'm getting cross-eyed staring at my Tablet for 3++ hours!

Haha, I know this is late, but I haven't had alot of inspiration lately. So this was the best that I could do.

I'm planning to make use of this to decorate a notebook that I'm planning to give to someone as a present. Hopefully it comes out well. I'll post up the pictures of the finished product once it's done and the present has been given :D

By the way, I used ArtRage 2 to make this. It's one of the best drawing programs that I've ever used. Even the free version is pretty powerful already, and if you want, you can pay US$25 to get the full version.

Found this in 7-Eleven on Sunday, and I decided to give it a try.

Although it's not really worth the cost, I thought it was pretty interesting. Like a friend of mine pointed out, they look like croutons, but are filled with dark chocolate. The chocolate didn't taste like real dark chocolate, but at least it wasn't too sweet.
And the design of the cover's quite typically Japanese, I find. Cutesy and simple. Haha.

First Things First: The First

A little project that I decided to start for myself. Basically, it's just a way for me to push myself to just draw or create something every week, as a form of exercise. No one might appreciate this, but hey, if anyone's looking, you're more than welcome!

I'll put up something that I did last week to start off with. Cats with emotions. Haha. This was done in MS Paint, so forgive the scratchy quality. But then again, these are skritches. :)
